Urology

Urology is a speciality, covering the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and reproductive organs.

The Provider

The Assura Macclesfield LLP Urology Service is provided by Assura Macclesfield Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).  Assura Macclesfield LLP is a partnership between local GPs and Assura Medical Limited. The Assura Macclesfield LLP Urology Service is a new NHS service, free to patients, commissioned by Central and Eastern Cheshire Primary Care Trust and will be run from the Assura Health and Wellness Centre.

All newly referred patients are offered prompt appointments in a one-stop clinic where they can be assessed and have a wide range of investigations 

 What does the service offer?

• Investigations including ultrasounds, bladder scans and blood tests. 
• Flexible cystoscopy (to check for any problems in your bladder using a flexible fibre-optic telescope, cystoscope.
• Consultation, advice and treatment from a consultant, specialist GP or specialist nurse.
• Prescription of medication as required.
• If your medical condition requires you to have a follow up appointment then this will also be offered at a time that is convenient to you.
• Purpose built facilities, equipped to provide services for patients with sensory and learning disabilities and for patients for whom English is not a first language.
